Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa)
Lance Leaved Coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata)
Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea)
Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa)
Yellow Prairie Coneflower (Ratibida pinnata)
Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta)
Goldenrod (Solidago speciosa)
New England Aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae)
White Prairie Clover (Dalea candida)
Each packet should be sufficient to plant over 1 square meter.
Instructions:
1. Keep packet cool and dry. It's recommended to put seed packet inside another zip-lock bag or a glass jar and keep refrigerated until ready to plant.
2. Choose a spot that is sunny.
3. Thoroughly weed planting area before seeding it with the wildflower seeds.
4. You may carefully disperse the seeds by hand (please note, many of them are small), or mix with a carrier substance like sawdust or sand. The following article has some great instructions on planting - https://www.epicgardening.com/wildflowers-from-seed/
5. Lightly compress into the ground.
6. Water thoroughly but be careful not to displace the seeds.
If growing in pots, this site has a good guide - https://www.petalrepublic.com/how-to-grow-wildflowers-in-pots/
Control for weeds in the first growing season. These seeds will need frequent (daily) watering until they germinate. Please note that native flowers take some time to establish, so you may not get many blooms in the first season. These flowers are hugely beneficial to native pollinators including bumble bees, solitary bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies.
